Netherlands

A small country where everything is extremely organized, can you actually gravel bike there? Absolutely! Apart from the tightly organized cities and beautifully paved roads, the Netherlands has several areas where it is beautiful ‘graveling’. With 21 National Parks, the Netherlands has the most National Parks per square kilometre and a large rural area full of alternations of forest, heathland and meadows. In between there are miles of unpaved roads that beg to be ridden by a gravel bike. For example, the Dutch cyclist’ paradise: South Limburg, of course known for the many hills where many a cycling race has been decided. Or how about the Veluwe, the largest nature reserve in the Netherlands with a lot of unpaved roads through nature. In the boscage landscapes of the eastern Netherlands, full of hedges, wooded banks and walls, many kilometres of dirt roads and forest paths await you. In addition to cycling, the Dutch also like to drink beer, so the well deserved snack after the tour is always well taken care of!
